Why Scarless Mole Removal?
One in five women and men of African heritage, over the age of 30, have inherited moles. This condition is known as Benign Pigmented Heriditary Nevi (BPHN) and should not be confused with Dermatosis Papulosa Nigrans (DPN) which occurs in other races. These moles are non-cancerous and there has never been a documented case of cancer in these inherited moles. People of other ethnic groups have a higher incidence of skin cancer, making this procedure inappropriate for them. The tendency, location and number of moles is inherited as well. In many families the moles dominate the face, in others the moles may be scattered about the body in any location. For example If your family gets 10 moles per year from age 30 to 50 you will likely get 10 moles a year between 30 and 50. If your family forms its last mole at age 50 you will likely form your last mole at 50. In this example there would be 100 moles at age 40 and 200 moles at age 50. Having a large number of moles makes the skin look aged resulting in frustration and possibly embarrassment. If this is you or someone you know SMR is the solution.
